Issues
All around the world, wastes and pollutants can be found either water, or in the soil. This is creating a major problem, as we already have dedicated landfills around the world, in every country and state that are used to collect garbage of all kinds. The amount of waste and pollutants grows everyday, and it makes the water not sanitary or clean to drink, and it adds toxins to the soil, so plants do not grow quite as well as they could. All because we as humans are not getting rid or our garbage in a clean and effective way. This poses a big problem, as what is the pollutant rate of garbage going to be in a few years?

Impacts
Luckily for us, scientists have found a way to effectively remove wastes and other pollutants from water so people who rely on that water source can have clean water, and the soil that people grow crops on, does not have toxins in the soil that may kill off their crop. Scientists use genetically altered microbes, plants, or fungi to help get rid of the waste that is contaminating the soil or water. The process of using the plants, fungi, and bacteria is called bioremediation. It is a reliable, and safe way of removing all of the wastes. While bioremediation is a safe and cheaper way of removing the wastes from water and soil, it is a very lengthy process, and could take a couple of months, but the end result, is either healthy soil, or clean water.
